All our training is based on the Police System of Car or Motorcycle control.
The system, known as IPSGA, is made up of four phases - position, speed, gear and Acceleration encompassed by information. Our aim is to coach you to a standard where you consistently apply these techniques to become a proficient advanced rider.
We offer training on a 1:2:1 basis and through our monthly training days which are held on the 3rd Saturday of every month.
Members are strongly encouraged to participate in the monthly training sessions, and depending on availability and location, will be allocated an instructor to progress towards their RoSPA test.
When allocated to a dedicated tutor, you are expected to commit to regular training sessions, which will be coordinated between you and your tutor. These sessions will include roadwork and familiarising yourself with Roadcraft. In between these sessions you should also allow time to practice new skills and learn chapters of Roadcraft.
RoSPA South Wales is a volunteer group and frequently faces high demand for tutors. If you cannot commit to a regular pattern or fail to keep in contact with your tutor, we will have no other options than to allocate your training slot to someone else, and you will need to request further training.
Our training days are open to all members and can be booked in our shop.
